Nairobi - Several politicians from the ruling Jubilee alliance want President Uhuru Kenyatta to skip his trial at the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Led by Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko, the leaders said President Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto were democratically elected by majority of Kenyans and therefore it would be embarrassing to arraign them in court, The Standard reports.
They have added their voice to the calls by the African Union and other presidents from several African countries who oppose President Kenyatta’s trial in a foreign land.
