IEBC told to vet all aspirants

Nairobi - The Standard reports that, the International Centre for Policy and Conflict (ICPC) has told the Independent Boundary and Elections Commission (IEBC) to vet all aspirants.
According to ICPC Executive Director Ndung’u Wainaina, IEBC still has the legal mandate to ensure all aspirants comply with chapter six of the new constitution even if the MPs appear to have sabotaged laws to guide the vetting process.
He said there is no way IEBC can abdicate their responsibility to vet candidates seeking elective offices. It cannot be allowed to hide behind some purported legislations that pretend to supersede the constitution.
