Gunmen attack Moses Wetang'ula, escapes unhurt

Nairobi - Bungoma Senator, Moses Wetang’ula narrowly escaped death after being attacked by unknown gunmen near Nairobi City mortuary on Thursday night.
Wetang’ula was being driven to his Karen home when the gunmen shot at his car, but he escaped unhurt, Daily Nation reports.
He claimed that the attack was an attempt to assassinate him and that he had earlier received anonymous death threats.
Former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, joined Wetang’ula at the scene and accompanied him to Kilimani police station where he recorded a statement.
Raila termed the attack as an assassination attempt that was aimed at silencing opposition.
