Gumbo replaces Namwamba as PAC chair

Nairobi - Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo is the new chairman of Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC)

Gumbo clinched the seat after he garnered 13 votes against ODM national chairman John Mbadi, who got 8 votes.

Other contestants Balambala MP Abdikadir Aden got 4 votes, Mwatate MP Andrew Mwadime got 1 vote while Tongaren MP Eseli Simiyu pulled out of the race, The Star reported.

Kipkeleon West MP Jackson Rop was elected the vice chairman of the reconstituted 27-member committee.

PAC was dissolved after a section of its members were accused of having been involved in corruption.
