Governors ready to drop referendum push

28 September 2014, 08:11

Njoro - Governors are ready to drop their push for Pesa Mashinani referendum push if the government addresses their grievances.

Speaking at Njoro Saturday, Isaac Ruto said they are willing to call of their campaigns if the government allows the Council of Governors to draft a ‘homegrown bill’ that will thereafter be passed into law.

He further dismissed claims that they are working with CORD in their referendum push, saying that they are concerned about the welfare of citizens at the grassroots.

Ruto also said they cannot trust the August House with the drafting of County Allocation bill, Daily Nation reports, saying it will not capture their aspirations.
