FIDA condemns MPs over attacks on Serem
07 June 2013, 18:14
Nairobi - The Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) has condemned recent remarks made by MPs against the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) Chair Sarah Serem, The Star reports.
During recent protests against salary cuts by the SRC, the MPs made disparaging attacks against the Commission’s Chair while also revoking the SRC gazette notice that set their pay at KES 532 500.
FIDA said it has particularly taken issue with Hon. Jakoyo Midiwo who referred to Serem as having ‘no brains’ and ‘picked for the position due to regional balance'.
