Nairobi - President Uhuru Kenyatta has yet again rewarded his allies and those of his deputy William Ruto in the latest appointment of leaders who will chair the boards of 10 State Corporations.
According to a special gazette notice, dated December 31, 2013, Mohamed Abduba Dida, who was President Kenyatta’s competitor in the last polls, has been appointed chairman of the Constituency Development Board (CDF), a position he will hold for eight months, The Standard reports.
The appointments have also seen the return of former Information and Communication Minister Samuel Poghisio, Danson Mungatana, Fred Kapondi, former Mt. Elgon MP.
Earlier on President Kenyatta made 24 appointments that have drawn varying views amongst Kenyans of different walks of life.
Politicians within both the Jubilee and CORD coalitions have had varying views on the appointments.
Some have argued that the appointments are not in line with the Jubilee governments promise to promote youth while others have pinned down the lack of regional balance.
On the other hand, supporters of the appointments have defended the move by the president saying it is within his constitutional right.
