Nairobi - The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has been been disparaged by the East Africa Law Society over the way it dealt with the sacking of the Gladys
Shollei,Capital FM reports.
Shollei is the former Chief Registrar of the
Judiciary, and the Chairman of the society James Mwamu was quoted saying "that the matter should have been handled in a sober manner to avoid watering
down the Judiciary’s credibility." Shollei was fired on October 18th after the JSC held a two-month long investigation of financial impropriety.
Shollei said that she was not given a chance to defend herself against the charges and that the JSC had "planned" to sack her before the investigation even began. Shollei used social media in an effort to gain a hearing with media coverage, she tweeted this on the 15th of October,"My cover letter forwarding my response to JSC and requesting for Oral and public hearing with full media coverage.no".
Mwamu reiterated that the public would said the public will view the
Judiciary with a lack of confidence as the dispute with Shollei
continues to be dragged out.
