County Governors will not be appraised
03 June 2013, 16:03
Nairobi - The Standard reports that the National government will not appraise performance of any of the 47 County Governors, Devolution and Planning Ministry has said.
Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru said the National Government lacks constitutional mandate to prefect the performance of Governors or the County governments.
Waiguru went on to add that whereas the National Government believes in the need for all public institutions to be continually assessed on their performance, the National Government’s responsibilities on assessment of performance are restricted to organs within the National Government.
