Cord,Jubilee MPs set to discuss ICC motion
05 September 2013, 10:10
Nairobi - MPs affiliated to both Jubilee and Cord coalitions are prepared for a tussle in Parliament as they will be debating on a motion seeking to have Kenya withdrawn from the Rome Statute.
Jubilee MPs were yesterday seeking support for the motion that will be moved by Leader of Majority Adan Duale. Senate Majority Leader Kithure Kindiki will next Tuesday move another motion in Senate, Daily Nation reports.
This comes as Deputy President William Ruto is expected to travel to The Hague for the start of his trial on September 10, while that of President Kenyatta will begin in November.
Parliament was recalled for a special sitting by the MPs on Thursday to discuss the motion.
