Cord vows to push for amendment of VAT Bill
17 September 2013, 09:50
Nairobi - Cord has vowed to pressurize the Jubilee government to amend the new VAT Bill that has seen prices of basic commodities increase.
According to Cord MPs, they will table the proposed amendments in Parliament when it reopens this afternoon to have the products exempted from tax, The Standard reports.
Their move may succeed since some of Jubilee MPs, who are the majority in Parliament, have travelled to The Hague to give Deputy President William Ruto moral support as his Hague trial resumes today.
