Mombasa - Daily Nation reports Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) MPs have opposed government's move that seeks to reduce the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) powers and empower the Inspector-General.
According to the lawmakers, the Jubilee government is targeting to get rid of NPSC chairman Johnstone Kavuludi and get someone that can be manipulated.
According to deputy Minority Leader in Parliament Jakoyo Midiwo, there are no concrete reasons that are being given by the government to transfer powers from NPSC to Inspector General David Kimaiyo.
