Cord, Jubilee war of words over title deeds
26 November 2013, 09:09
Nairobi - Leaders in the Jubilee alliance have hit out at former Prime Minister Raila Odinga over his claims that title deeds issued by President Uhuru Kenyatta to Coast residents were illegal.
Parliament’s Majority Leader Aden Duale rubbished the claims saying the documents were issued by a legitimate government and told Raila to stop misleading the nation, The Standard reports.
He said the government would soon conduct the same exercise in Nyaza, starting in Bondo and Siaya, followed by Migori and Homabay counties.
The former PM had termed the issuance of the title deeds to Coast residents as a form of propaganda used by the Jubilee government to woo votes in the region that was dominated by Cord in the March 4 polls.
