Mombasa - Some MPs at the Coast allied to CORD have vowed to work with the Jubilee Government so that they can be able to deliver their election pledges to their electorate.
During a meeting to discuss how to protect minerals and land in the region in Kwale with the Deputy President William Ruto, the leaders led by Kwale Governor Salim Mvuria (CORD) urged locals not to sell their land but to lease it out to prospectors, The Standard reports.
Other leaders present at the meeting were MPs Khatib Mwashetani, Zainab Chidzuga and Hassan Manyoa, all from CORD who declared to work with the Government, as they seek remedies to deal with the land issue as their region was rich in minerals and avoid the exploitation of locals.
