Civil servants resign for elective offices

Nairobi - Close to 100 civil servants resigned to join politics by close of business on Monday, so as to meet the deadline for those seeking to plunge into politics to resign from the civil service.
The Standard reports that Government Spokesman Alfred Mutua, the Commandant of the Administration Police Kinuthia Mbugua, four permanent secretaries and five diplomats are among those who quit office to get ready for the polls.
Others include parastatal heads, district commissioners and other middle-level public servants.
