Campaign Trail: Raila and Tuju
09 November 2011, 17:26
Nairobi - The Daily Nation reports that Presidential aspirant Raphael Tuju is expected to tour Kisumu over the weekend, days after his entourage was stoned in the lakeside city.
Speaking to the media at his Secretariat office, Tuju squarely blamed Prime Minister Raila Odinga for the incident, as the people involved sung “Agwambo and ODM slogans.”(Odinga is referred to as Agwambo by his staunch supporters.)
The former Presidential advisor and MP for Rarieda said that since Odinga is the ODM party leader “the buck stops with him.”
“ODM is a party with a large following. They are partners in the current coalition government. The Prime Minister’s party instead of helping with investigations following an incident of violence is busy sinning propaganda,” Tuju added.
On his part, the PM has, however, since condemned the violence and advocated political tolerance.
