CORD woos URP to pass vote of no confidence in Uhuru

29 September 2015, 09:15

Nairobi - Members of the CORD coalition are calling on their counterparts in URP to support the impeachment motion against President Uhuru Kenyatta.

According to CORD, passing the vote of no confidence in the President will help the URP to ascend to power.

Justifying the motion, Homa Bay Town MP, Peter Kaluma accused the President of mishandling the ongoing teachers’ strike, covering up grand corruption schemes in government among other breaches of the Constitution.

Lobbying for URP support in passing the motion scheduled for debate Tuesday, Kaluma further alluded that Uhuru Kenyatta has sidelined URP in the running of the government.

The ruling Jubilee coalition has however vowed to shoot the motion down, The Standard reports.
