Aspirants trade words over voter exodus

26 November 2012, 15:04

Kwale - The Standard reports that, political aspirants in a constituency in Kwale County are trading accusations over alleged transportation of residents to register as voters in a neighbouring area, snatching them potential votes in the process.

Former Msambweni MP and one time assistant minister Marere Wamwachai and sitting Kingwede Shirazi ward councillor and one time Kwale
County Council Chairman Mshenga Ruga Vuyaa, both eying the Msambweni parliamentary seat, are pointing fingers at counterparts in Lungalunga, recently hived from Msambweni, for the act.

Wamwachai accused the Interim Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) officials in the area of turning a blind eye to the development.
