Mombasa - Daily Nation reports Attorney General Githu Muigai has been ordered to amend the Elections Act to give a reasonable period within which election results should gazetted.
The order from the High Court in Mombasa ordered the AG to come up with the legislative
amendment to section 76 (1) of the Act to be enforced by the Independent
Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
According to the Act, a petition should be filed within 28 days after the date of publication
of the results of the election in the gazette notice but it does not specify when the notice should be published.
