WATCH: US warns citizens over violent Kenya protests

Nairobi - The US has warned its citizens in Kenya of their security in the wake of continued violent protests in the East African country.
In a letter signed by the US Embassy in Nairobi Monday, Americans were informed of the Opposition's ongoing protests and urged to 'avoid gatherings, maintain security awareness at all times and monitor local media'.
This comes after another day of violent protests in Kenya, which saw one dead and plenty injured in battles between Police and opposition supporters, The Daily Nation reported.
“The US Embassy wishes to inform US citizens that opposition parties in Kenya have called for the resumption of weekly demonstrations to be held outside the office of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission,” the statement seen by News24 read in part.
The Embassy further told its citizens to avoid areas where the demonstrations were taking place, adding that though the protests may start out peaceful, chaos could erupt.
It was not the first time envoys in Kenya had raised concern over the protests, having earlier released a statement stating their displeasure over the demonstrations.
In the Monday protests, there were several disruptions caused, with major roads closed and schools forced to stay closed over fears the protests could get violent, Citizen TV reported.
