18 January 2016, 09:49

Nakuru - A 13-year-old Standard Seven girl is nursing burn wounds she sustained during a tragic exorcism conducted by members of a church at a Nakuru slum.

It is alleged that members of Roho Mowar church at Ponda Mali slum in Nakuru doused her face with paraffin before lighting a fire in a bid to expel demons from her body.

In a clip aired on Citizen TV, the teen was feeling unwell when the church members went to pray for her.

When they arrived at her brother's house where she was staying, they claimed she was possessed and thus they needed to expel the demons using paraffin and fire.

He brother reports that the church members even forced her to drink some of the paraffin.

Daily Nation reports that she was rescued by well wishers who took her to Nakuru Level Five Hospital where she is undergoing treatment.

Upon admission, doctors also discovered she was pregnant, which she said was a result of rape by one of her tormenters.
