Nairobi - Parents of Cheplaskei Primary school in Uasin Gishu County stormed the institution demanding the removal of the head teacher for condoning immorality at the school.
This was after 12 schoolgirls were confirmed pregnant, with the parents claiming that some of the teachers are behind the pregnancies.
The angry parents stormed the Principal’s office, which they locked with their own padlock before confronting teachers in the full view of pupils.
“Girls have been dropping out in standard six and seven. The dorms have become maternity,” an incensed parent told KTN.
This is not the first case of mass pregnancy of schoolgirls in the country.
Last year, 27 girls at Moi Kaptama Girls High school and another 13 from Chemoge secondary school were found pregnant, with teachers and boda boda riders being held culpable.
