22 January 2016, 10:13 Pauline Nyumu

Nairobi - Kenyans on Thursday joined the civil society at Uhuru Park Nairobi to light candles for soldiers killed in Somalia last Friday.

Over 60 soldiers died and scores injured when Al Shabaab struck a KDF camp at El Adde in Somalia.

Boniface Mwangi, the event organiser said the event continues until Sunday.

In a tweet posted Friday, he said: “#KDFHeroesVigil continues today, tomorrow and end on Sunday night. Come by. Bring a candle and flowers. #KDFOurHeroes.”

Kenyans joined online to pour their tributes to the fallen soldiers.
