Bungoma - A family in Bungoma won a three-month court battle to allow them to bury a late relative in sitting position, a report said on Tuedsay.
Seventy five year-old Chrisantus Rapong’o died in September, but the family wanted him to be buried according to their traditions.
All men in the Abakhibe clan are buried sitting down, NTV reported, but Rapong’o’s church wanted to bury him in the normal prostrate position.
The disagreement escalated into a suit, delaying the burial for three months until the magistrate ruled in favour of the family traditions.
