The CORD leader accused Uhuru of using the trip meant for the launch of development projects to campaign for Jubilee ahead of the 2017 general election.

"Even if Uhuru stays in Mombasa for one year, I will only need a day to recapture support," Raila is quoted as saying on Tuesday.

The rant comes in the wake of complaints by Kenyans that the President has lost his soul to the Coast and failed to deal with other pressing matters.

This follows a report on the Daily Nation where Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho was quoted as saying he is confident that CORD will be victorious in the 2017 polls despite the long tour by the President.
