21 April 2016, 11:08

Nairobi - Two Kenyans have been arrested in the United States over armed robbery.

Nash Muraya and Alex Ngatia allegedly robbed a resident of Portland City, Oregon at gunpoint.

According to reports, 21-year-old Muraya and 20-year-old Ngatia were arrested on Monday after they were spotted driving from the scene of robbery.

The robbery victim said he was meeting someone to buy gift cards when the incident occurred.

The assailants escaped in a speeding car but on learning that police were pursuing them, they allegedly abandoned the car and fled on foot.

This comes hot on the heels of the discovery that Kenya was paying a Washington-based PR firm KES 3 million monthly for positive coverage in the US.

In a report published by Daily Nation on Monday, it was revealed that the government had hired Podesta Group to push for stronger ties between the two nations, with the government having spent over KES 50 million in the past one year on PR campaigns.
