President Uhuru Kenyatta receives remains of late Mama Lucy Kibaki

Nairobi - The body of the late first lady, Mama Lucy Kibaki arrived in the country on Sunday morning.

The Kenya Airways plane carrying her remains touched down at around 5am.

President Uhuru Kenyatta, first lady Margaret Kenyatta, other leaders and members of the Kibaki family were at the airport to receive the body of the former first lady.

The body was then taken to Lee Funeral home after a prayer service, The Star reports.

Standard adds that the President has announced three days of mourning in honour of the departed first lady.

Lucy died in London Tuesday while receiving treatment.
