Trafficked woman reunited with family after 18 years

Narok - A woman who disappeared 18-years ago in 1998 due to child trafficking has finally been reunited with her family.
According to Citizen TV the taken female was lured by a Tanzanian woman who offered her potential employment.
The girls father, Richard Mitei says that he was told by many to accept that his little girl was still alive.

The taken girl, Jackline says that the woman who snatched her intended for her to be a surrogate mother but managed to escape after a neighbour helped her escape.
But her turmoil did not end there after the Chief in Kuria District that she escaped to intended to force her to undergo circumcision procedure for marriage.
However in the end she managed to get back to Kenya even though she had no hopes of returning herself.
Jackline says there are other girls living in the area suffering the same fate and has called on government to intervene and bring back the girls.
According to a report by the U.S. State Department in Persons Report in 2009, "Kenya is a source, transit, and destination country for men, women, and children trafficked for the purposes of forced labor and sexual exploitation. Kenyan children are trafficked within the country for domestic servitude, forced labor in agriculture (including on flower plantations), cattle herding, in bars, and for commercial sexual exploitation, including involvement in the coastal sex tourism industry. "
