Students bar firefighters from putting off dorm fire

Kisii - Students at Riosiri Secondary School in Kisii barred fire extinguishers from putting off a dormitory fire.
The fire is said to have started around 8PM on Thursday.
County officials had to obtain reinforcement from police in order to access the institution and contain the fire.

According to Standard, three schools have been razed in Kisii County in a period of one week.
Arson attacks in public boarding schools have escalated, with reports indicating that over 70 schools have been affected.
The most affected counties are Kisii, Meru, Machakos, Kericho, Tharaka Nithi, Embu, Uasin Gishu, Nyamira, Siaya, Kitui, Nakuru, Migori, Muranga, Kiambu, Kilifi and Bungoma.
Fuel stations in various counties have already been issued with strict instructions not to sell fuel to students in a bid to contain the situation.
