SA doctors say Kibaki responding well to treatment

23 August 2016, 11:38

Nairobi - Former Kenyan President, Mwai Kibaki is admitted at the Netcare Sunninghill Hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The retired President was taken to the facility on Sunday for specialized treatment after spending the day at Karen hospital in Nairobi where he had been rushed after suffering a minor stroke.

Doctors attending to him said he is responding well to treatment, with further sources confirming that he is “awake and talking.”

A close associate of the family told Standard that the 84-year-old retired President is in a very upbeat mood and might be discharged from the hospital by the end of the week.
