23 February 2016, 14:44

Nairobi - Suspended National Oil Corporation of Kenya Managing Director Sumayya Hassan-Athman has been reinstated.

The corporation's board is still conducting the audit, which is expected to decide her fate at the parastatal.

The Daily Nation also added that deputy president made the announcement on Monday evening at a meeting with the Muslim community from Malindi constituency at the Red Cross Social Hall.

She was suspended by the NOCK board after an audit of the firm under her helm.

Athmani has defended her performance at the State corporation saying it had more than tripled its profit and doubled its assets in her five-year tenure.
