Nairobi - Security officials have hailed Operation Linda Boni for reducing terror threats in Lamu county.
According to The Star, officers claimed that cases of terror-related attacks have been neutralised almost completely due to the efforts of security personnel who left nothing to chance in the fight against al-Shabaab.
James Serian, leader of Operation Linda Boni, stated that since the operation kicked off a year ago, peace and calm has prevailed across the country and is set to continue for an unspecified amount of time.

"There is more peace and stability in Lamu now. We are in total control of all the operation zones. We still plan to do more in order to intensify the operation," said Serian.
He lauded members of the public for their continued cooperation with security forces, while providing officials with information that has proven critical in the war against terror.
"We want to thank members of the public. They have been very helpful with information that has greatly boosted our work and we are appealing for more of that. As for us, we shall continue to do our work and ensure Lamu remains safe for locals and visitors," Serian stated.
