NGO boss in custody over terror links

Nairobi - The boss of a Mandera based Non Governmental Organization NGO has been detained in Nairobi over alleged involvement in terrorism.
The man, a director of the NGO suspected of
funding a terror cell in Mandera County.
According to the Daily Nation, Abdisalam Afif Shueb has been detained for two days
to allow police complete preliminary investigations.
He was arrested Tuesday January 19 at Eastleigh Mall in Nairobi.
He has so far pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Star also reports that the prosecution has delivered its plea, stating that the NGO is linked to a cell which recruits youth to fight in the Somali based Al Shabaab terror group.

Mandera County; the foundation is believed to be facilitating terrorism
in and out of the country by recruiting youth who travel to Somalia for
training," The Anti-Terrorism Police Unit said in its report.
The report further says that Shueb who is also a businessman, runs a chemist on 12 Street in Eastleigh,
Nairobi and will be held at Muthaiga police
