18 August 2016, 19:24

Nakuru – A woman who set herself ablaze after finding out about her husband extra-martial affairs succumbed to her injuries at the Rift Valley provincial General Hospital.

According to Standard Media Cynthia Njoki, 28 passed on Wednesday night.

She sustained injuries to her hands, abdomen, thighs and face after she doused herself in kerosene.

The quarrel with her husband began after he failed to come home on Saturday night only to return home the next day calling another woman.

Outraged Njoki said she went to her bedroom and doused herself with kerosene.

"I had an issue with my husband after he failed to report home and on coming, he continued to call a woman he was having a relationship with. I was angry and burnt myself," Njoki said.

Njoki told the media that her husband would disappear for days at a time.

She was pronounced dead on Monday.
