Nairobi businessman jeers after killing guard

03 February 2016, 12:35

Nairobi - Former Cooper Motor Corporation (CMC) Director who hit two security guards at Runda Estate in Nairobi was captured on video taunting the crash victims.

Joel Kibe is reported to have been drunk when he hit Charles Wachira who was allegedly holding brief for his sick colleague.

According to The Star, Kibe’s vehicle hit a one-foot radius bollard and pushed it 10 metres away before running over the guard.

Another security guard was also injured in the incident and is currently undergoing treatment.

However, in a clip captured at the scene, Kibe is heard jeering at the victims saying:  “Gari yangu imeumia, tumeumia sote. My car is wrecked; we’ve all suffered.”

Police who had taken him to Gigiri police station for interrogation have released him on bond, saying they will treat the incident as a normal traffic offense.

Kibe is expected to appear in court today to face trial.
