Nairobi - A 27-year-old woman is frustrated after Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) doctors took too long to separate her conjoined twins.
The twins arrived at KNH on September 5 from Kiirua Mission Hospital in Meru County for specialized treatment.
Favour and Blessing are conjoined at the lower back.
Caroline Mukiri, who is a single mother, laments the delay saying her bill is already out of hand.
“The doctors had promised to operate on them after the December holidays, but nothing has been done yet… My bill is now over a million,” she says.
Citizen TV reports that Caroline had been directed to wait for a few months until the organs of her babies are fully developed, but the doctors do not seem interested to conduct the delicate operation.
