Man kidnaps wife, kills her then dumps body outside their house

Nairobi - Police in Meru County are looking for a man who kidnapped his estranged wife and son, killed her and then dumped her body at her parent’s home.

The woman had been living with her parent’s at Kiguchwa village in Tigania east sub-County after separating with husband.

Her relatives said the woman and her 3-year-old son had been kidnapped before her lifeless body was found outside their house.

Her 35-year-old husband was seen picking the woman and child then speeding off towards Meru, CitizenTV reports.

Statistics indicate that 45% of women between ages 15 – 49 in Kenya have experienced either physical or sexual violence, accounting for 90% of the gender based violence (GBV) cases reported.

Culture, financial insecurity and drugs have been cited as the factors that promote violence against women.
