Man hangs self after being dumped by wife of 2 months

27 January 2016, 08:29

Bungoma - A 27-year-old man in Bungoma killed himself over a dispute with his wife of two months.

Charles Khaemba and Irene Nasike got married just two months ago, with relatives saying that the couple has been quarreling since then.

Khaemba is said to have committed suicide after Nasike fled with his academic documents.

He committed the act in his sitting room using a rope on Sunday, The Star reports.

Efforts by the family to reach Nasike have been futile as she could not be reached on phone.

This is not the first such case in the area.

Last week, a middle-aged man set himself on fire after his wife failed to cook him fish.

According to reports, the couple quarreled for a while before engaging in a fight that forced the wife to run away.

He then locked himself in the house and set it on fire, where he burnt his buttocks and head.
