Man accused of killing, eating neighbor’s body parts wants case dropped

26 January 2016, 11:09

Nakuru - A 38-year-old man in Subukia, Nakuru County who was arrested for killing and eating his neighbor's body parts wants the case dropped.

Amos Kimemia is alleged to have killed Samuel Epolisi then removed parts of his body in June 2012 when he was arrested.

The court heard that Epolisi was killed at night before his body was split open and some parts removed.

According to Standard, Epolisi’s liver, heart and private parts were found in a cooking pot inside Kimemia's house.

The cannibalism suspect is accused of killing Epolisi "before eating his heart, liver, private parts and intestines then dumping the body", the report said.

Kimemia, who has been in custody since 2012, however wants the case dropped saying there is no evidence to prove that he indeed killed the deceased.

Cases of cannibalism have been reported before in Kenya.

In 2010, 30-year-old Philip Onyanja shocked the nation when he confessed to killing several people and later sucking their blood.

The self-confessed serial killer, who claimed to have killed 19 women by the time of his arrest, was targeting to kill 81 more, according to Capital News.
