Nairobi - Over 200 Maasai morans attacked Chinese rail workers at Duka Moja along the Narok-Maai Mahiu road, injuring 14 of them.
The youths used clubs and swords to attack the Standard Gauge Railway construction workers.

The project is proposed to connect Mombasa to Malaba on the border with Uganda, and continue onward to Kampala. It will further run to Kigali with a branch line to Juba in South Sudan. Reports indicate that branch lines along the route will extend to Kisumu, Kasese and Pakwach.
The main contractor of the SGR project is China Road and Bridge Corporation, but the project has so far employed over 30,000 locals.
The implementation of the Standard Gauge Railway will not only boost the transport development but also promote integration and industrialization in the East and Central Africa.
