Nairobi - Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has sacked County Environment chief Evans Ondieki.
Ondieki and Kidero have not been seeing eye to eye in recent months and have finally parted ways as reported by Capital News.
The former environment chief has been in the wars in recent times over a number of corruption allegations as well as the well known and documented garbage problem in the city.
The sacking also comes just a week after Kidero instituted changes to the County cabinet.
Capital News further reports that Kidero has named the Urban Renewals and Housing CEC Tom Odongo in an acting capacity to the post.
In a letter signed by County Secretary Robert Ayisi, the dismissal from position of County Executive Committee Member in charge of Environment, Water, Energy and Natural Resources takes effect immediately.
Ondieki had in July last year been put on the spot after allegations emerged that he was cavorting with Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru who is rumoured to be eyeing the governor’s seat in the next elections.
Ondieki denied those allegations, pledging loyalty to Kidero and blaming cartels at County Hall for undermining him because of his hard work.
