Kenyans laud Paul Kongani for speaking for the youth

05 September 2016, 12:38

Nairobi - Kenyans on Twitter have lauded Paul Kongani for speaking for the youth.

Paul Kongani had applied for the position of Chief Justice despite not meeting the requisite requirements.

The constitution requires that a potential candidate for the position should have at least 15 years of experience as a superior court judge or at least fifteen years experience as a distinguished academic, judicial officer, legal practitioner or such experience in other relevant legal field.

Kongani, who graduated only five years ago and is yet to be admitted to the bar, admitted that he was not qualified for the post but quipped that the recruitment criteria discriminated against the youth.

According to Citizen Digital, he has already withdrawn his candidature.
