Nairobi - Former Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu has made a scathing revelation about Kitui General hospital.
Ngilu, who is aspiring to be the Kitui County Governor, expressed concern that the hospital had focused on entertainment gadgets and ignored the needs of patients.
In a twitter post Wednesday, the former CS said: “A visit to the Kitui General. Shocking details of a Hospital with over 50 television sets, but no Water or drugs.”

This is not the first government hospital to be in the spotlight for lack of basic amenities.
In July, there was uproar after reports emerged that patients at Isiolo Level Four Hospital were being forced to beg for food from Good Samaritans due to lack of food at the facility.
Standard further revealed that doctors were even using expired blood on patients due to shortage.
In Kakamega, patients have been captured on video sleeping on cartons and cardboards, with doctors at the facility revealing that the hospital lacked important life-saving equipment such as the suction machine.
