Kenya, Somalia presidents hold Dadaab talks

08 June 2016, 15:01 PSCU

Nairobi - President Uhuru Kenyatta and Somalia President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud Tuesday held bilateral talks for more than three hours at State House, Nairobi.

The talks between the two leaders focused on issues that included the decision to close the Dadaab refugee camp, trade issues including rules affecting aviation between Kenya and Somalia, and cooperation on security.

President Mohamud, who is on an official visit to Kenya and visited the Dadaab refugee camp Monday, came to State House accompanied by senior officials of his government.

Mohamud becomes the first sitting President of Somalia to visit the Dadaab refugee camp for the more than two decades it has existed.

The two leaders will hold a second round of talks at State House Wednesday.
