Nairobi - The Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) has cleared Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Chair, Issack Hassan in the famous chickengate scandal.
The scandal involved several officials at the defunct Interim Independent Electoral Commission (IIEC) who allegedly received bribes from a British firm, Smith and Ouzman.
The firm allegedly gave out bribes amounting to KES 52 million to the polls officials in order to secure printing tenders in 2010.

On Tuesday, EACC exonerated Hassan but recommended the prosecution of four officials.
In a statement, the anti-graft body said: "In the file EACC has found evidence of criminal culpability on the part of and recommended criminal charges agains the following persons: James Humphrey Obanda Oswago, Trevy James Oyambra, Hamida Ali Kibwana and Kenneth Karani."
