Nairobi - Pope Francis will be welcomed by a group of former street children as a show of humility.
The Pope is expected to arrive at the JKIA at 5.00pm, where he will be received by President Uhuru Kenyatta, church members and other dignitaries.
The Pontiff worked and lived with the poorest of the poor in the slums of Buenos Aires, and has described himself as a son of immigrant family.
On Thursday, he will spend time with slum dwellers at Kangemi after an interdenominational service at UoN grounds.
On Friday, he will be meeting with young people at Safaricom Kasarani Stadium.
The religious leader will urge efforts towards peace, social justice and conciliation between Islam and Christianity on his travels to Kenya, Uganda and the Central African Republic (CAR) during his five-day trip.
