Govt to take action against schools that flout fees guidelines

Nairobi - As schools reopen Monday for first term, the Ministry of Education has pledged to crack the whip on heads of schools that have flouted the 2015 fees guidelines.
It has emerged that some public schools have highly inflated school fees, even after the ministry capped it to between KES 9 374 and KES 53 543 per year.
A clip aired on Citizen TV revealed that Moi Girls High School in Eldoret and Pangani Girls in Nairobi are among schools that have flouted the fees guidelines.
The cost of textbooks and school uniform has also gone up, making the costs unbearable for parents.
Kenyans have come out to condemn the increment which they call a 'fraud' and 'impunity'.
