County passes motion to remove prostitutes from the streets

Mombasa - Members of the Mombasa County Assembly have passed a motion to remove prostitutes from the streets.
The motion which was drafted by the Tononoka MCA, Saad Faraj seeks to help prostitutes explore other revenue generation avenues.
Daily Nation reports that Faraj, while tabling the motion, linked the rampant prostitution in the city to its status as a tourism hub.
Earlier this year, Standard revealed that Mombasa prisons are full of prostitutes among other petty offender.
