Cops linked to Willie Kimani's murder deny charges

Nairobi - Four police officers linked to Willie Kimani’s murder on Monday denied the the three counts of murder leveled against them.
Fredrick Leliman, Leonard Mwangi, Silvia Wanjiku and Stephen Cheburet were arrested separately early this month over the brutal murder of the human rights lawyer, his client Josphat Mwenda and a taxi driver Joseph Muiruri.
The three had been abducted on June 23 as they left Mavoko court where Mwenda was facing charges of possessing narcotics.

Their bodies to be retrieved from a river in Machakos a week later, leading to the arrest of the four police officers.
Autopsy reports revealed that the three were hit several times with a blunt object and then strangled to death.
The three male cops will be held at Industrial area remand prison while the female cop will be held at Lang'ata Women's prison until August 16, The Star reports.
