Nairobi - A police officer attached to the Kasarani police division robbed KES 40 000 from an M-Pesa outlet in Roysambu Monday morning.
According to witnesses, the cop was in plain clothes and camouflaged in a hood when he committed the offence.
He is reported to have walked into the outlet posing as a client only to hold a pistol to the attendant and steal her money.
He then walked back to the police station, The Star reports.
This is not the first time police officers are engaging in crime.
A week ago, three police officers were arrested in Marsabit for trafficking Ethiopians into the country amid reports of escalating human trafficking cases in the country.
Last week, there were reports that police officers at a station in Nairobi received KES 2 000 bribe to kill a girl they had arrested in connection with mobile phone theft.
